This SLR camera is almost similar to the D but with a more articulated screen, incorporating several of the user-friendly features of the brand. This allows the user to alter the look of the images and control the blur without the need to learn about the technical aspects of the entire process. The D also features multi aspect ratio shooting range and the creative filters, which allows users to apply different range of effects on the images right after shooting.

This displays brief explanations of the different functionalities on the screen, which is a great help for beginners who are still trying to learn how an SLR camera works. This feature is based on the idea that movies are usually more interesting if they are stitched together through a series of short takes instead of shooting a long continuous clip. These are the qualities have anchored the flagship Canon Rebel model in the top-selling DSLRs category for years - and I fully expect the T3i to maintain the Rebel's popularity. Since then, every new model introduced to the range has seen an increase in overall resolution, along with ever more advanced processing engines. In many ways, the D is the first model in the series to buck this trend. While the latest model does undoubtedly add to the strengths of its predecessor with a number of hardware upgrades, new features and design tweaks, the core specification remains largely unchanged from that of the D it supersedes, but not altogether replaces.

An excellent camera to allow DSLR beginners to flourish, though it doesn't quite carve out a totally clear niche for itself for more advanced users.
